Richard was raised on the south side of Houston, Texas. He graduated from James Madison Senior High School and went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Sam Houston State University. Richard began his education career in business and technology. He later earned a Master’s of Arts degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University and completed requirements for his Master’s of Education degree as well.

Richard served as an Associate Principal for 10 years, and now serves as a central office administrator. Richard attends Windsor Village United Methodist Church, and is involved with the Old Town Spring Community through Truevine Missionary Church (historical African American community). Richard currently serves on the school board for St. Edwards Catholic School (Archdiocese of Galeveston-Houston).

His future goals include becoming a superintendent of a challenging and prosperous school district. When he comes full circle in his career and achievements, he will come back to where it began with exploring children, teenagers, and adults on the foundations of education. Richard has a vision that has willed him and kept his flame burning each and everyday in education. His vision is to perform at a successful level and touch the life of every child he encounters and allow them to experience the power of their minds and unlimited success through education.
